Record-VG+
Generally the record presents well with some light surface marks, mainly dominanted by inner sleeve marks with occasional light hairlines and marks, there is one small mark that is lightly feelable (only effects side 2 track 1, lightly noticed on play back). On the whole this looks to be a decent copy of this incredibly scarce record.
I have listened to both sides and I was pleasantly suprised by how it played. It is often the case that these heavier sixties pressings are much more forgiving especially Island as the pressings are quite heavy weight. I found that there were no noticeable jumps or skips which certainly was encouraging. There is an underlying background noise that is sporadically and occasionally noticed in quiter sections but the sound was generally clean and bright. The sound was beyond its visual grading and in all honesty on my player it sounded fantastic and was a pleasant listen. There were some very occasional ticks and surface noises in places but this was light and very occasional. The lightly feelable mark effecting side 2 track one produced some light ticks on the run in and begining whilst it was at its quietest for about 20 seconds but once the track was running I could barely pick up on it. I certainly feel that the audio grading exceeds the VG+ visual grading generally. On the whole it was a pleasant listen. This is not for the collecting purists of course but if you want to listen to this classic album this is the album for you.
Sleeve-FAIR
I guess the only fairest way to grade the sleeve is as above but it still looks okay, there is surface rubbing, wear and marks on both side, with some edge and corner wear on all side with ring wear noticeable front and back. The spine edge has been restored, it is quite flat and non of the text is legible. There is a patch of restoration on the front where some text has been restored, where there was a large graze effecting the sleeve. Ring wear and rubbing effects the front and back of the sleeve also. There is a price written in pen on the back of the sleeve and inside edge. Certainly not the best sleeve but it is still quite solid and certainly wont be the worst. Please view the photo gallery for a visual of the condition.
