PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.


RARE COMPLETE big six LP box set from 1988 with the number 49 on the labels denoting a Specialty (Record Corporation-Olyphant, PA) pressing with songwriters and publishers index sheet insert, complete original big 30-page booklet and all 6 glossy printed inner sleeves with complete personnel on each song!!!  LPs are a beautiful near mint minus and cover is gorgeous VG++/NM- with NO splits whatsoever!!!  Now for the real reason you're reading this.  Also included in this auction is an ultra rare original 12 X 12 rigid  two-sided in-store promotional display put out by parent company Polydor in 1988 (see photos 7 through 10)!!!  I purchased this from a former Tower Records (R.I.P.) manager who was a big Clapton fan and decided to save this from the Tower wall.  She told me that 99% of these displays were either tossed after they were displayed or never displayed at all and then tossed.  Tower staff saw them as disposable swag and clutter and as a result VERY few survived from the 80s.  INCREDIBLY hard to find, particularly in this condition with NO tears, staple or pin holes, adhesive peeling or bends.  This is the kind of item Clapton/Yardbirds/Blues Breakers/Cream/Derek & The Dominoes, etc. fans are going to be fighting over fiercely in the very near future so don't sleep.
