NM- VERVE V-8513 THE THREE SOUNDS "BLUE GENES" ED1 PRESS US-1962 'RVG' MASTERING
Verve Records / Black & Sliver Label / Gatefold Cover / ED1 1964 Mono Pressing The Three Sounds: Blue Genes Gene Harris, Piano Andrew Simpkins, Bass Bill Dowdy, Drums Engineer: Dr. Rudy Van Gelder. Producer: Creed Taylor. Liner Notes: Jack Maher. Cover: Charles Stewart.
Record Grading: NM- Vinyl is in near perfect condition, showing high gloss. There is zero spindle wear (see pics). Marked down slightly as original owner placed small name/address sticker (1"x1/2") on album label. This only on Side A. I will leave it up to the discretion of the buyer as to whether to leave "as is", carefully remove, black out, etc.
Jacket Grading: NM- Beautiful cover. Deep, rich colors on front and back with no signs of aging or fading. No writing, no tape, and no split seams. Spine of the gatefold hasn't been broken and the title is still sharp and clearly legible. Marked down slightly for clean "punch" on bottom left corner right above catalog number. There is also a tiny bit of creasing along the top edge of the jacket mouth (1"-2"). I have tried to capture anything that might be considered a "blemish" via close-up photos included in listing.
Overall Grading: A solid NM- for early 1960s Verve release. Grading "dings" are all cosmetic only. Vinyl is nearly perfect and appears to be unplayed. A true audiophile recording with Van Gelder Mastering and Creed Taylor Production. I'll be sad to see this one go.
Shipping Policy:
All LPs are secured with bubble-wrap and carefully placed in proper mailers with specialized cardboard inserts for reinforcement. LPs will be shipped in their inner sleeve, stored outside of the record jacket to avoid damage in transit. Box sets are mailed with the LPs remaining inside, after placing thin sheets of packing paper or bubble-wrap inside to further reduce movement of contents.
I am happy to combine auction items to reduce your shipping costs. However, if you want multiple items to mailed in one package DO NOT PAY until you are done bidding.
I mail purchased items very quickly, typically same day, but ONLY to the address specified in the original request.

Return Policy:

1. My shipping costs are nonrefundable. Return shipping costs are the buyers responsibility.
2. My listings include high resolution, close-up photos taken under bright light. Please review them before making bidding decisions. I am happy to send additional photos upon request.
3. Returns may be requested up to 30 days after item is delivered. Refunds will be issued only after the returned item is in hand and confirmed to be in the same condition as pictured in the original listing. SEALED ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED SEALED. "NEVER PLAYED" RECORDS MUST BE RETURNED UN-PLAYED.
4. When purchasing "never played" records, you may see remnants from the original packaging process on the LP. My policy is to let you clean this off with your own equipment. Experienced collectors know that fine cardboard dust or bits of paper from the original sleeve are most reliable evidence that a record has never been played. Refunds will NOT be given to those claiming LPs were graded incorrectly because of these remnants.
