This is the promo-only official NME vinyl version of the infamous C86 cassette. It was limited to 500 copies, but this one is un-numbered on the back.
Such a great compilation -- and it's interesting to go back to the original artifact because while the term C86 increasingly refers to a very limited and specific kind of anorak indie jangle, the original compilation itself contained a wide variety of indie sounds, including the more abrasive sound of the now-forgotten Bogshed.and the hopefully forgotten novelty rock of Half Man Half Biscuit (though their song on here is not half bad).
