This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

 Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

QUALITY 154g...WOW-VERY HEAVY!!!
NEAR MINT!
 Nice, heavy vinyl, with barely a mark on her.!.All I can see, when angled towards strong sunlight (now thats rare over here ;)  is just one insignificant wispy mark over tracks 4, 5 & 6 on side 2. It did not affect playback at all on my Focus One deck with an SMK arm and fitted with a new Audio Technica stylus...I did not hear it registar on playback
After I finished listening to all of her (LOUD) I  found as close to zero background noise you would ever hope for!
 She kicks straight in with a superb rich deep bass reproduction, peaking with incredibly clear highs too!!
It has been a very long time since I have heard this album sound SOOOO CLEAR & RICH...W-O-W!!

 There's zero central hole wear as seen in the pictures. The labels stand out wonderfully clean, with no writing or rips.
I could just about see a handful of VERY light spindle marks to side 2, not side 1...And these ere only seen as I was particularly looking for them...Most people would not even mention these.
 Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd" "Recording First Published 1963" stated under the printed matrix number.
NO "Sold In UK..." statement...Showing it is the 5th pressing.
NO WRITING
"KT" tax code proud and raised to side 2.

Inner:
NEAR MINT!
It is the ORIGINAL very 1st "USE EMITEX" inner, with the poly-lining and the "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" statement to one side in the bottom left corner.
In SUPERB, TIP-TOP condition.
Only carries incredibly light creasing-not even any discolouration!
MAGICAL
Even has sharp corners too...
Certainly done her job in keeping the record in great condition!

It has been a VERY long time since I have seen this cover in such archive condition!
RARER 1st PRINTING EJ DAY COVER
( These were produced at roughly a ratio of 1:10, compared to the usual Garrod & Lofthouse covers)
 There is only MINIMAL wear to this cover!!
A few fingers of spidering eminating from the seams..Nothing at all to worry about...THAT IS ALL!!
Very light rubbing to the corners, but again, nothing bad at all.
Lovely EJ Day flipbacks.
STRONG INTACT & LEGIBLE SPINE
RARE and in great, TOP shape!
