ITEM INFORMATION:  A 1973 original privately pressed LP by Washington D.C. Area trumpeter Allen Houser. A rarity LP with a cult following. In talking about the LP, Houser states, “In the late 1960's I was playing trumpet in a Latin Jazz band let by Julio Miranda and directed, musically, by Maria Rodriguez. We played local clubs, dances, embassy parties, and gave concerts. Twice we recorded albums in New York. These albums were never released. I decided I had to produce my own music. I called tenor man Buck Hill, whose last recording was with Charlie Byrd in the mid-1950's. Steve Novosel agreed to play bass. Besides recording and touring with Rashaan Roland Kirk, his playing credits range from Red Norvo to Milt Jackson, Sweets Edison to Charles Toliver. Al Gray & Cedar Walton. He recommended that I contact Andrew White (of Coltrane Legacy fame and independent producer, today, of over 40 recordings). Andrew was a helpful guide on how to proceed with the project. I asked the drummer Mike Smith to play the date. Mike has played with Steve Kuhn, Charlie Haden, Bob Mintzer, and Toots Thielman, to name just a few of many first-rate jazz musicians who have called him. Terry Plumeri was added as a second bass player to offer his unique Arco-bass soloing to the group. Terry was introducing a completely original approach.”

This a unique album and the only vinyl release.

A great jazz LP and a worthy addition to a quality record collection.

ANY WHITE CIRCLE IN PICTURES IS CAUSED BY CAMERA FLASH NOT AN ALBUM COVER DEFFECT.

I am a 30-year collector of great classical, jazz, soundtracks and rock records. I started in late 2008 with a sale of a limited number of the best items in my collections. This is my 14th and last sale in 2010. These records will be of the highest quality and desirability. Expect to bid on rare LP’s of Furtwangler, Bernard Herrmann, string and piano artists and jazz artists. Many fine TAS-listed or TAS-type audiophile records will be included as well. At this time I can not take wish-list items, but please add me to your favorites list for upcoming offerings.

GRADING: Sealed LP’s are noted in their description. I grade by both visual inspection and play. Mint is not used. Near Mint is my highest grade and should play problem free; VG++ should play problem free or with noted shortcomings noted in write-up.  VG+ is listed with any shortcomings noted in write-up. My description will be accurate. All items guaranteed, but I do not refund shipping costs.

I request that payment be made through PayPal only. Contact me via eBay mail if not possible. My items have no reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage. I recommend all items that sell at $100.00 plus be shipped insured. Because of the value of some items, I may at my discretion require insurance. After bid closing, insurance amount will be calculated and then added to shipping fees reflecting in your invoice.
