Description
This is "Space Dimension" by the Noah Howard quartet with Frank Wright on tenor sax. An incredible record featuring a great version of "Church Number Nine"! Now please pay attention to this - I have owned 3(!) copies of this album over the years and each copy had the same mastering problem...there is audible distortion in nearly half of this record..some sort of pressing/mastering issue. The music still comes through, but in parts it sounds like it was recorded with the volume levels pushed way up into the red. I have also been in touch with other collectors who own this album and they also have the same issue with their copies. So while visually the record is NM and free from marks..the playback is not entirely "audiophile" quality. With that out of the way..this is a very interesting and great session that has never been reissued on CD unfortunately. I bought this copy which was advertised as an unplayed stock copy but the cover has a small sticker removal mark at top right so I will grade it as EX. The vinyl is visually perfect but again the playback is a mixed bag...about 50% sounds great but the rest sounds like it was recorded in the red with audible distortion.
