NORMAN Blake LP Whiskey Before Breakfast ROUNDER Vinyl 0063 Charlie Collins
One of the premiere guitarists in the bluegrass/folk genre, Norman Blake was also a sought-after studio and touring musician. His credits are legion and include stints in the touring bands of Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. His studio credits include Bob Dylan's "Nashville Skyline" and Joan Baez's "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".
This is a first pressing of his 1976 release on Rounder "Whiskey Before Breakfast" and features his stellar flat picking, (mostly solo and with Charlie Collins on several tracks). It appears to have been recorded live in the studio with no overdubs. The vinyl, visually, is in near mint condition. It plays perfectly with some surface noise during quiet passages, and is play-graded excellent. The cardboard cover has some surface wear and minor "whiting" on the corners, but is in excellent condition. There is the very rare Rounder insert included.
