Description
Hello, up for sale is a vintage, original unopened, 100% sealed, 1977 AFL1-2428 Elvis "Moody Blue" first pressing LP 33rpm Record Album. The last album Elvis ever produced. It has the correct cover decals "The Blue Album" and "Contains the Hits "Moody Blue" and "Way Down". The album is in mint original, unopened condition, please look at pictures carefully. There are no "peek cuts" on the opening, and it is completely sealed. Original 1977 USA New York pressing. I have been very tempted to check for blue or black vinyl, but have left it sealed for you to find out. The album is clearly dated 1977 from RCA New York. Most likely, this is a blue vinyl first pressing from 1977, but also has the chance to be a very rare first. black pressing. I don't know because I haven't opened it. I have done research for any clue as to the exact pressing, using model numbers on the cover. The AFL1-2428 is clearly printed on the upper right portion of the album, and the only other indicator of the edition is the AFL1-2428-2 on the "Contains the hits Moody Blue and Way Down" sticker on the right. After the original blue vinyl pressings of this album, RCA ran out of blue stock because of its popularity, and briefly switched to black vinyl. Within a month Elvis had died, and RCA went back to the blue vinyl versions in patronage to the king. Does the AFL-2428-2 on the bottom of the original "Contains the hits Moody Blue" and Way Down" sticker on this album denote a second black version, (which would have been the first rare black pressing)? Or does it designate the second "post-rare first black pressing" run of blue vinyl records. Any questions, please ask! Low starting bid with no reserve.
