Steven Stapleton's Nurse With Wound project is as mind-bending and forward-thinking nowadays, as it was back in 1979 when he dropped his first LP alongside John Fothergill and Heman Pathak. In fact, Stapleton has managed to reinvent himself in each decade of activity, starting with the brusk industrial sounds of the early 80's, through to more post-punk amalgamations in the 90's, and then moving onto more harmonic patterns of ambient music in the 2000'5. This reissue by Drastic Plastic is some of his more placid work, and both parts of "Echo Poeme: Sequence No 2" are airy and meditative, made up of floating voices, subtle swarms of background sonics, and plenty of manipulation. A thing of true beauty, and perfect for the more downtempo moments.
