This is a beautiful and likely one-of-a-kind offering of the rare 33 1/3 rpm LP NEW YORK REALLY HAS THE BLUES! (Volume 1) (Spivey LP-1018, 1974?)

It is autographed in blue ink on the front cover by the Dicey-Ross Band as follows: (1) To my friend Mike - Bill Dicey; (2) Thanks for the 200 billion free beers - Danny Counts; (3) Uncle Eric piano; (4) Ken Coveel, Money Catcher and Drums; (5) To Reefer King himself, Robert Ross.

Grading Scale

            You deserve an accurate description of what you’re buying. We try our best to give you that. Our records are visually graded under strong light. If we have also played the record, we will say so. If when you receive your record you disagree with our grading, let us know. If you wish, we’ll take it back and refund your money.

            We use a simplified Goldmine standard:

            Mint (M) – A perfect, unplayed record.

            Near Mint (NM) – A nearly perfect record. Cover is immaculate. Vinyl shows no visible scuffs or scratches.  Played only a couple times, at most.

            Very Good Plus (VG+) or Excellent (EX) – A nice record that has been played but well cared for. Vinyl is glossy but shows slight signs of wear, such as light scuffs, very light scratches that do not affect the sound, minor spindle marks. Label might show some evidence of wear but is still lovely. Cover might have hairline creases, a soft corner or two, or minor ring wear. VG++ is the high side of this grade.

            Very Good (VG) - A record that has received a good amount of play and has visible flaws but still plays well, albeit with some audible imperfections. Vinyl might have numerous surface scuffs and light scratches, a minor warp that doesn’t affect the sound, loss of original gloss. Label shows evidence of wear. Cover shows signs of handling, such as minor seam splits and ring wear, but remains pleasing to the eye. VG- is the low side of this grade, perhaps due to writing, tape, stickers or other flaws.

            Good (G) - Does not mean bad. The record still plays, but with significant surface noise and groove wear; the label is worn, with major ring wear, heavy writing or obvious damage; the cover has significant seam splits, awful ring wear, and heavy writing such as radio station call letters in thick ink. A “good” record might serve as filler for your collection until you acquire one of better quality.

            Poor (P) and Fair (F) records are rarely listed, except as part of large lots, and have little or no value.

            All orders are professionally packaged and shipped. Records are protected in clear 3 mm poly-plastic outer sleeves and shipped in new, custom cardboard mailers. We generally ship within 2 days the order is placed (usually the same day if ordered by 1:00 PM). Unless otherwise noted, please allow 5-7 days for shipping.

            Media mail is a bit slower than Priority Mail, but cheaper and quite reliable. If you need your item quicker, please email us. We’ll provide a quote based on your zip code (average Priority Mail is about $7.50 for a single record) or on whatever shipping method you prefer. Note that double LPs count as two records.
