   For sale is a vinyl record by Nancy Griffith titled "One Summer Evening", originally released in 1988 by MCA Records. According to the liner notes, this record was mastered by Glenn Meadows. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is machine stamped "Masterfonics", followed by a large upper case "G" between two boxes (<>-G-<>) and the pressing matrix numbers MI-1/MI-1, indicating that this first edition was mastered at Masterfonics Studios of Nashville, Tennessee, before early stampers were used to make this record at MCA Records' pressing plant located in Gloversville, New York. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of two corner creases, corner blunts and stress cracks along the spine. The spine has a little color loss at one corner from a blunt. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without sleeve marks, surface scratches, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this album between Excellent and Near Mint Minus because of occasional ultra low levels of surface noise. This record plays all the way through without any skips, pops or lock-ups from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet.
