John Sanders and Miss Donna Owens, also Lipscomb students, were added, he to handle their lighting and sound systems during performances, and she to accompany them on the piano. Then they officially became known as THE INSIDERS. Their first year was filled with new experiences for the group. They became popular entertainers in and around Nashville. Some performances took them to distant cities in Tennessee, Kentucky and Florida. Their ability to sing numerous styles of music has given them an appeal to all ages. Their versions of popular songs have always been well received, but it is their inclusion of spirituals and a selection of a cappella hymns that has made THE INSIDERS a unique group. The favorable response to their religious numbers led THE INSIDERS to consider making an album of these songs. After much planning, much dedication, and many weeks of hard work, the album has become a reality. They hope through your enjoyment of this record that you will share in the blessings which they have received. I have heard these young people since they became known as THE INSIDERS and have scheduled them as entertainment for many Lipscomb programs. They were always well received, but I am much impressed with the progress they have made in their first year. I recently heard a trial recording of this album, and they have become a smoothly performing professional group that should enjoy great success.
