The set looks in Excellent condition for it's age. Much better than one I've seen online that sold for a couple of a hundred and they didn't even test the records! I don't have a 78 player but tested it on my record player and sped it up with my finger and the records play fine with the music being heard along with expected surface noise but music is heard at all times. As I said I don't have a professional 78 RPM player and it should sound quite well on a professional player. This should probably be in a museum somewhere.
This originally came with 5 discs but one is missing. The packaging/sleeve is in excellent condition as well as you can see in the photos, no mold or anything nasty on it.

ORIGINAL AND VERY RARE
NEGRO SINFUL SONGS was Lead Belly's first commercially available album, released in 1939. Most of the tracks were recorded in the New York studios of Musicraft Records in 1939. This is the ORIGINAL MULTI-RECORD ALBUM FROM 1939 with four of the five 78s still in their sleeves.

First record is Album 31 226B 'De Kalb Blues' and 226-A 'The Boll Weevil'. This record is in poor condition - large "bite" on edge, probably destroying 1/4 of songs.
Second record is Album 31 225-A 'Poor Howard' and 'Green Corn", verso has 225-B 'Fannin Street'. This record is in poor condition - significant crack throughout.
Third record is Album 31 223B 'Looky, Looky Yonder', 'Black Betty', 'Yellow Women's Door Bells' and verso 223-A 'Frankie and Albert' (first half) . This record is all intact but appears to have surface scratches.
Fourth record is Album 31 224-B 'Ain't Goin' Down', 'To the Well No Mo' and "Go Down Old Hannah' and verso 224-A 'Frankie and Albert' (Completion). This record is all intact but appears to have surface scratches.
THIS ONE IS MISSING FROM THE SET:
Fifth record is Album 31 227-A 'The Gallis Pole' and verso 227-B 'The Bourgeois Blues'. This record is all intact but appears to have surface scratches.
