This is THE rarest of the Venice beach punk-hardcore-thrash-skaterock records of the '80's, the Neighborhood Watch self-titled LP. It was released in 1983 on Deeder Deets records, the same year Suicidal Tendencies released its legendary self-titled LP on Frontier Records. True original with the following messages etched in the dead wax: "DD.1A", "DD-1B", "You just wait until I'm sober er sompum.", "Stay tuned for the Sploobs.", "L 15593" and "L-15593-X". It features artwork done by Ric Clayton (RxCx), bass player from fellow Venice hardcore masters No Mercy and who also drawed many Suicidal Tendencies flyers and t-shirts shown on the first Suicidal LP. Neighborhood Watch was Chris Howell (aka Chris Howly-Bra) on vocals, John Flitcraft (who also played in The Brood with Amery Smith, Todd Moyer and Jon Nelson and who now plays in the excellent Jazz Fusion band Altered) on bass, Mark Conway on guitar (who replaced Mike Jensen, who had joined Beowulf by then!) and Dave Hutchinson on drums. Neighborhood Watch started in 1981 and were pals of Suicidal Tendencies part of the "Suicidal Scene" which was strong in Venice in the beginning of the '80's, when Dave Hutchinson and John Flitcraft were living in a old house with Mike Muir and Amery Smith of Suicidal Tendencies. The only reason why Neighborhood Watch isn't on the legendary "Welcome to Venice" compilation is because they had a falling out with Mike Muir during the period when the famous compilation was released. This LP was produced by ex-Suicidal Tendencies guitar player Jon Nelson (who was also the manager for Neighborhood Watch and who mixed this album) and Vinnie West and engineered by Steve Brenner. Vinyl in NEAR MINT condition and jacket is in great condition but with barely noticeable brownish stains here and there on the front and back cover (more noticeable on back cover) and a bit of damage near the "W" of "Watch" on the front cover (SEE PICTURE!) as well as on the left side of front cover and at the bottom of back cover but the jacket is great if you except those cosmetic flaws (SEE PICTURE).
