Absolute time capsule for Neil Young completists and vinyl audiophiles: a genuine, monumental 1970 true first pressing of After the Gold Rush on Reprise Records (RS 6383).
This is not the common, watered-down reissue you find in most record bins. This copy features the legendary, historically significant "RE-1" deadwax matrix codes stamped alongside the coveted Artisan Sound Recorders "snare drum and drumsticks" logo.
WHY THIS PRESSING MATTERS TO COLLECTORS
Immediately after the initial September 1970 release, Neil Young pulled the album to drastically remix the track "When You Dance I Can Really Love."
The Rare RE-1 Audio: This LP contains the original, raw, abrasive garage-rock mix featuring Neil and Danny Whitten’s roaring, distorted electric guitars pushed dangerously to the front of the soundstage. It clocks in at the original, shorter 3:44 runtime before it was permanently deleted and extended to 4:06 on all subsequent "RE-2" pressings.
