You are bidding on a vinyl copy of Neil Young’s gorgeous album “Harvest Moon”. This is a mid-career classic featuring gorgeous steel guitars, background vocals and the poetry of Neil. It’s definitely a classic and has never sounded better than on these pressings. Here’s the story of this particular piece of vinyl:

A few weeks ago, I was at a national bookseller and was looking through their vinyl selection when I saw this copy marked down for a great discount because the shrink was torn. Well, I didn’t care about that and knew I already loved the album, so I picked it up.

I take it home, where I had recently upgraded my turntable. I put it on and it just sounded so gorgeous! Depending on how much of an audio nerd you might be, you might recognize the name of the guy who mastered this for vinyl. His name’s Chris Bellman and he’s a genius. Anyway, I was blown away by the sound quality and even more stupefied when I read the credits and it said this pressing (2017, btw) was mastered from original 44.1/16 digital.  It’s a testament to the recording of the album and Bellman’s skills, because it sounds incredibly intimate and warm. All of the nuances that serve the songs on this album.

I was so floored, I decided I should just go ahead and order the vinyl box set from Neil’s website which includes this album. I’m a big fan of this part of Neil’s career, so why not?

And that’s how this is now my spare copy. It’s a duplicate and I would like for it to find a good home. I’ve tried to take a lot of pictures to show the condition and wear. The vinyl is absolutely great. No playback issues. I’m not even sure I played the third side, but I can see I used discwasher D4 on it to clean it. And sides A & B were played maybe three times. Have a good look, as there is wear on the jacket, notably at the corners and spine and a small dimple on the back a few inches below the barcode.
