Description

Neil Young:  “Rust Never Sleeps”  (2 LPs).  Rare, extraordinary bootleg.

Live recording (excellent stereo) from LA Forum, 24 October 1978.

"Australian produced" bootleg (Goldrush Productions NY 201 1498) on "Repress Records", a clever take off on Reprise Records.  B&W colored labels read Slipped Disc SX-TT 979.

This is the original Slipped Disc / Repress Records release, NOT to be confused with knock off copies that followed from Asia, e.g. a copy of the same title on Impossible Records which claims to be in stereo but in fact is in mono.

The interesting set list appears on the jacket back.         (SEE PHOTOS)

All of Side 1 and the first three tracks of Side 2 of LP #1 of this 2-LP set feature Young playing solo acoustic, accompanying himself on guitar, piano and harmonica.  The tracks which follow on LP #1 and LP #2 feature a terrific electric set with Young joined by his legendary backup band Crazy Horse.

This scarce and highly regarded 2-LP set is featured in Hot Wacks book compilations of recommended bootleg releases.  Hot Wacks, a Canada based publication, was my bible for guidance on "alternate label" recordings.

Record was bought new and never played.

You will be hard pressed to find a finer copy of this rare and extraordinary bootleg recording of Neil Young and Crazy Horse from his legendary "Rust Never Sleeps" tour.

Hoping this one goes to a good home.
