The seller received this LP as a promotional copy from the label at the time of its release.  

The disc was visually inspected and appears to be in NM condition.  The gatefold cover is in VG+ condition with minimal shelf wear.  It has a gold promo stamp and a "QUIEX II Limited Edition Pressing" sticker on the front cover.  Read below for information about the superior QUIEX II pressing process used to make this vinyl LP.

It has the original custom inner sleeve, which has 1" and 2"  seam splits, otherwise it is in good condition with no folds or creases.  The sleeve is on glossy paper and features photos and lyrics.  Please zoom in on the provided photos to see the overall condition of this item.

Trans is the twelfth studio album by Canadian musician and singer-songwriter Neil Young, released on December 29, 1982. Recorded and released during his Geffen era in the 1980s, its electronic sound baffled many fans upon its initial release—a Sennheiser vocoder VSM201 features prominently in six of the nine tracks.

This is a Limited Edition QUIEX II audiophile pressing.  Quiex II was a pure vinyl formulation that was colored with dye rather than the more commonly used carbon black, which has coarse granules and creates noise. Quiex II was a harder, purer vinyl used on WEA (Warner, Elektra, Atlantic) label Promotional copies. It's a higher quality than they used for standard pressings in the states.

The QUIEX II discs appear to be black, but if you hold them up to light, you should see some light coming through the vinyl -- it's not precisely translucent, but it looks sort of glowy/brownish rather than blocking out all the light.  A PHOTO IS INCLUDED SHOWING THE SELLER'S DESK LAMP SHINING THROUGH THE VINYL.

This first pressing of Neil Young's Trans album contains a typographic mistake. Although it is listed in the line-up on the back of this record and on the lyric inner sleeve, the song "If You Got Love" is not on the record itself.

Seller is the Original Owner. I have recently begun to list my 2500+ record collection on Ebay, so please check back occasionally to see my new listings. My collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983. Most of my vinyl records have never been played, and many have their original shrink wrap. Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired many promotional and collectible LPs from that era.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.

Seller ships domestically within the United States via United States Post Office Media Mail with tracking. This is the most economical option.  Seller will insure packages valued above $30.  Insurance does not cover missing packages after they have been delivered to the buyer's address, only damage or loss during shipping. Warping is possible if vinyl records are exposed to sun/heat during hot months. Provide a shady area for your package delivery, and bring package inside as soon as possible.  If Buyer would prefer a faster shipping service, please contact the Seller before completing the transaction to discuss options such as Priority Mail. Per USPS, Priority Mail packages are delivered in 1-3 days.
