I am not a record dealer and I am not an expert at grading records. I will give as much information as possible to assist in identifying particular albums and an honest opinion as to condition.
For the vinyl collectors looking in, the following information is available:
Label: Reprise
I believe this is a German pressing.
Year: 1993
Catalogue No: 9362-45310-1
Additional Matrix number information: (Side 1) WMME Alsdorf 936 245310-1-A (Side 2) WMME Alsdorf 936 245310-1-A
Stereo.
Condition:
Record: Both labels very clean. Vinyl has some light finger marks. There are some very faint hairline surface marks.
On Side 2 there is a small white dot. I have tried wiping it, but it won't come off. It doesn't affect the playing so rather than risk damaging the album, I will leave it there. It is less than the size of a pinhead - probably less than 1mm. I have played the album all the way through. There are no jumps, skips or sticking anywhere on the album. There is the occasional light click, but nothing that jumped out at me as being loud. All in all it is a very clean sound.
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY! It's hard to see with the naked eye, but when you put the album on the turntable, it does have a very slight warp (you can see the needle going up and down a little) It doesn't cause it to jump at all and it isn't a drastic warp by any means. The first time I played it, I thought the opening track on Side 2 (Harvest Moon) - for about the first 20 seconds or so, sounded as though it was dragging a bit. I have tried it several times since and I think it sounds fine. I only have a small turntable on which to play these albums as I list them and therefore quite a bit of the album overhangs the edge of the turntable. The turntable has a series of ridges around it. I am no expert, but I did wonder if because of the slight warp it is a little sensitive as to exactly where it is placed on the turntable. I can't really offer any other explanation. As I say, it seems to have played fine when I have replayed it (albeit I am a little paranoid about it now). Apologies for going into so much detail about it, but I always try to be as honest and as accurate as possible with my album listings so feel I should mention this. - on the understanding that if you choose to bid for it, you are aware that it does have this slight warp.
It didn't seem to do it at the start of side 1 (Old Laughing Lady)
Cover: Single Sleeve. Front and back are clean. Some minor crease marks (approx. 0.5cm - 1cm) coming from spine to front and back. two light crease marks on back, top left diagonal (approx. 3cm and 1cm). Cover does lay flat. Absolute minimal shelf wear to bottom edge. Top edge very good with text clear and readable. Spine has a couple of small white marks, but all text is clear and readable.
Inner sleeve: Original paper inner sleeve. All intact. B&W photos and album info. on one side. Lyrics on other side.
Compared with how others grade LP’s on eBay I would say this is VGC+.
This isn’t a “mint” album, but I would say it is a very respectable looking and playing album.
If you would like any further information regarding this item, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer your questions.
Describing the condition of items is very subjective.(one man’s treasure is another man’s junk etc). I will always try to be as honest as possible in describing the items. I would rather be honest from the outset, than end up with a disappointed winning bidder. I buy things on eBay as well and would expect the same honesty from others.
There is no reserve on this item.
Items will be dispatched by Royal Mail First Class post. I will obtain a receipt for postage, but cannot accept responsibility for items not delivered. I understand “standard” first class mail is insured for items up to a value of £20.00. If you would prefer items insured for more, tracked, special delivery, recorded and “signed for” delivery, please contact me prior to paying.
If my starting bid is £20.00 or over, I will include a postage price that will cover for "Signed For" postage (this insures for up to £50) and if the starting bid or final bid is over £50 I will send via Special Delivery which I believe insures for up to £500.00.
All albums are dispatched in sturdy cardboard mailers with additional stiffeners, to ensure safe arrival. The cost of this packaging is included in the postage price.
Winning bidders must pay within three days of end of auction or the item will be relisted and negative feedback left.
Instant PayPal payments only please. I do not accept cheques in any form (including eCheques)
International bidders MUST please contact me prior to bidding for postage costs. I will only ship to Europe and Worldwide via International “signed for” airmail and this can be a costly business.
Thank you for looking. Good luck and happy bidding.
