Description

A lot of people don't know this, but St Louis used to be a musical mecca for cool prog bands. There was a monopoly held by KSHE on the FM dial, that unwittingly turned a whole city, teenagers and all, into prog-nerds; and a good many copies of this gatefold LP I've found, have traces of a resinous green leafy material. This one is sealed, so no chance! Groups like Gypsy, and Nektar still make yearly or bi-annual stops here... and now I find this record in some kindly grandmother's attic. KSHE was also one of the few stations I ever heard that had a female DJ in her 80's on the air! I can still here Ruth's slightly dessicated quavering voice saying "real rock radio, turn it up!"

I've talked to the members of this band and found out that the original mixes on these LP's have never been reissued. Upon the release of the CD and the production of it, they realized the original masters were not in the condition they had hoped. They remixed the original master tapes in the studio, but as many found out, they didn't get it right the first time. There are now three seperate mixes out there of this LP on CD, none of which sound like this, and none of which contain the tracks on this, as some were replaced during the remix as they were not there! This is why this SEALED version of the LP will probably see some serious bidding. The LP is in original shrink with a small drill hole. This is the first US pressing, rare in intself, on the passport label.
