You are bidding on a great prog rock LP:   NEO original French private pressing PS 380 110, 1980.

"There is very little known about this French band calling themselves Neo, other than they released a self-entitled album in 1980, and having Musea later reissue it. This album couldn't have came at a worse time for prog rock than 1980. Punk and disco had already done their damage, and the big time groups either disappeared or went pop (like Yes, ELP, Genesis, Gentle Giant). Really it took nerves of steel for a band like Neo to pull something like this off in 1980. Despite their name, luckily their music is hardly neo-progressive at all, a bit early for that (Marillion formed the previous year and at this point still called Silmarillion, and their first album of course won't see the light of day until 1983). The music is all-instrumental packed with tons of '70s string synths, Moog, sax, as well as the usual rock gear of guitar, bass, and drums. I've seen them compared to Ozric Tentacles, although that group had yet to exist, there's that jamming quality you come to expect to the Ozrics. King Crimson, Shylock, and Camel are a few other reference points. There is a bit more of a symphonic feel than the Ozrics would ever be. What's also great is there's very little anything to reveal this was from 1980, it sounds '70s enough not to bother fans of '70s prog. This reissue also contains two bonus cuts that obviously sound later (likely mid to late '80s), the music has a rather strong digital feel, with digital synths and drum machines. For some reason the music isn't that bad, if you don't mind that mid '80s digital production and sound, but it's the proper album that really matters. Truly one of the great gems released during the prog rock dry spell..."

NM         Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.

VG+        Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience.

VG         Groove Wear starts to be noticeable, has a few light scuffs and scratches that might affect sound.

VG-        Some wear, scratches and scuffs, but no skipped or repeat grooves.

G+         Below average with scuffs and scratches on fewer than half the tracks. No skips or repeat grooves.

G           Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

G-          Lowest Grade. Audible scratches, etc. on more than half the tracks. Listening uncomfortable.
