Description
Up for auction here is "Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols" by the Sex Pistols on the British Virgin label. This is the early pressing that was rushed out before the release date. It has 11 tracks instead of 12 and has a blank back cover. It has A1 and B2 stampers. I cleaned it on my VPI cleaning machine and put it on the turntable to take a break from listing LPs (and evaluate the sound because of a few marks). I turned it up (pretty ridiculously loud) and listened to the whole LP. I've heard this record a lot over the years, but I've never heard it sound this good. This pressing really packs a punch. The few scattered marks (even a fairly ugly one on side 2) don't make a sound. The record is visually somewhere in the VG/VG+ realm, but plays NM-/VG+ with just some quiet tics audible between tracks. The cover is better than VG, but maybe not quite VG+. There's some light wear on the spine. and a hint of ringwear on back at the top. There is also a scratch/indentation on the "N" in Never on the front cover. In it's new plastic sleeve, it displays well. THIS is the version of this album that you want, and this is about as nice as they come..... almost 40 years after it came out. Bid big or be sad. I pack records outside of the covers to protect the seams from splitting. They are shipped in dedicated record mailers with padded inserts. I spend a lot of time and money on shipping with care so your record looks as good when it arrives as it did when it left.
