Description
This is the super-rare 12" Perfect Kiss white (actually pale pink) label. It is the Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) cut, and manufactured at Lyntone. The run outs state:
Side A -Fac 123-A LYN – 15586-3 DMM
Side B – Fac123-B – LYN – 15587-4EMI
The label on the disc states that this cut was never issued on the final versions. Neworderweb.net states that there may be less then 10 copies of this in existence (http://www.neworderweb.net/discographies-home/new-order-discography/the-perfect-kiss/).
There is an equivalent 7" with the same features. Discogs reports:
"Direct metal mastering (DMM) of the UK promotional 7" single issued in a generic white paper sleeve with blank white labels on both sides. While similar to those on the promotional release, the handwriting and punctuation of the runout etchings are noticeably different. The catalog number is etched in a smaller sized font than on the official promo. There are also some hyphens missing that are present in the etchings on the promo. It appears that the DMM cut used for this white label was abandoned for the eventual promo and is unique to this release"
