Released in May 1983, Power, Corruption and Lies marked the moment New Order stepped completely out of Joy Division’s shadow and into their own identity. Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert blended post-punk, electronic music, sequencers and club rhythms into something entirely new.
