Description
The Beatles 1967 - 1970 blue cover and 1962 - 1966 red cover albums were the equivalent to what should be considered The Beatles greatest hits collection. All 20 of their US number 1 hits and many of their great album cuts were found on these 4 lps.
By 1978 there became a Picture Disk / Colored Vinyl craze. Record companies trying to manufacture collectors items to reinvigorate interest in repurchasing what you already bought . This blue vinyl UK lp is one the products of the that first colored vinyl craze.
I must say though, this UK blue vinyl version on the Apple label was unique at the time for us here in the US, it is quite cool and sounds great, much better than our dusty US Capitol label mono re-processed for stereo versions.
Record 1 is in VG+ condition with some hard to see sleeve hairlines here and there on the vinyl which happens when sliding it in and out of the sleeve. Record 2 is in excellent shape. The near mint laminated cover is still in beautiful shape, it does have a tiny ding on the bottom left and right corners, which doesn't distract from the beauty of the cover at all.
