Tender Prey is the fifth studio album by Australian rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, released on 19th September 1988 on Mute Records. Produced by Flood, the album was recorded during several sessions over the course of four months in West Berlin and London and dedicated to Fernando Ramos da Silva.
An extraordinary canon of work. It was the point at which Cave seemed to really begin to trust his talent as a songwriter, as he moved The Bad Seeds further away from the gloriously savage goth-punk of The Birthday Party.
This is the original, very limited edition UK release from 1988, on Mute. It contains the Nick Cave 12" with four spoken word extracts from his novel, 'The Ass Saw An Angel'.
The LP comes with the orginal picture sleeve.

This record has been kept in storage in a smoke free household. It is from a large record collection, not a DJ collection, this record has never been DJed and is in good condition.
The record sleeve and picture sleeve shows foxing from being in storage.On Side 1, there are a small crackle and two small pops before the spoken intro of the 1st track, "The Mercy Seat". Between tracks 3 and 4 there is a crackle and small pop. With track 4, Alice " there is a crackle about 37 seconds into the song. Finally between tracks 4 and 5 there are three slight crackles.
Flip it over to Side 2, there are crackles in the run up to to the 1st track. Then there are crackles during the first bars of harmonica and Nick's call out. There is a pop between tracks 2 and 3. After which there are two little crackles between tracks 3 and 4. Finally with the 5th track, "New Morning" at 2.47 minutes there is a crackle.
The spoken word, of Nick, on side 1 there are wee crackles before the background music starts. With the 1st extract, 'Sanctum' at 1.01 minutes, there is a crackle. Between extract 1 and 2, there are a few crackles.
Side 2, there is a small pop in the run up to the 1st extract. There are crackles during the opening stanzas of 'Autumn '. Then about 1.51 minutes into this the 1st extract, there is a crackle. Between extract 1 and 2 there are a few crackles. Finally towards the end of extract 2, there are two little crackles at 4.02 minutes just before Nick says goodnight and coughs.
