Description
For sale is this wonderful vinyl LP of NICK DRAKE - PINK MOON on Island Records, arguably the single most perfect album ever recorded. This copy is the 2000 Simply Vinyl Re-issue on 180g vinyl with full gatefold and pink labels and is in really wonderful condition. This edition was the first post-1970s re-issue of this great album (outside of the Fruit Tree Boxset) and is the most sought-after of the recent pressings (more so even than the excellent Back to Black pressing).
The matrix numbers of this copy are:
- Side A - (hand-etched) 08 43025 20 1A1 SVLP 172
- Side B - (hand- etched) 08 43025 20 1B1 SVLP 172
Condition overall is Excellent (EX). The gatefold sleeve is EX with only very light edge and corner wear. There is a small split in the rear fold base about 1 inch long (pictured) otherwise I would have graded the sleeve near mint. The inside gatefold is immaculate. The black paper inner sleeve is in excellent shape. The disc is EX - a beautifully weighty, lustrous black with signs of having had very limited play. Side A is close to flawless with only the slightest surface marks visible even in direct sunlight. Side B has slightly more visible surface marks in harsh light and one more noticeable light surface scratch across tracks 3, 4 and 5 which I could not hear intruding into the audio on carefully testing these tracks. Overall a really clean and well cared-for copy of this sought-after pressing.
