This is a two-sided ¼” thick, heavy Edison record, “A product of Edison Laboratories". There is a high level of hiss, but I recorded both sides successfully, and was able to edit out a good deal of the hiss. There is no paper label, the label is pressed directly into the record. It includes:
- 'Nigger Blues', written by Leroy (Lasses) White, sung by Al Bernard. 50542-R (6638-A-4-4). Wikipedia gives the author's name as 'Lee Roy "Lasses" White. It calls 'Nigger Blues' as one of the first blues song published, written by one of the first composers of twelve bar blues, and the first whose lyrics were in what would become the standard blues form used by the 1920s vaudeville performers and found in the folk blues songs collected and recorded in the 1930s.
