Nina Simone
Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecat's Heavenly House Mix)

Soul-Jazz on Verve Records, 2003. From my crates.

This one got played out when it came out, and it was one I reached for in my own sets - a crowd always loves a good remix. Felix Da Housecat takes Nina Simone's "Sinnerman" and reworks it into a house record.

Grading it for sale, I finally sat and listened to it all the way through. The B-side closes with the full ten-minute Nina Simone "Sinnerman", slow-building and kind of epic, and I had not heard it before. On a house 12-inch, that is a nice surprise to find on the flip.

Audio links open on YouTube in a new tab, so you can hear the record before you bid. They are not my uploads and I make nothing from them. Not every upload is official; where the official channel has no copy, the link is a fan upload.

Graded to the Goldmine standard, the same scale Discogs uses.

Vinyl: graded Very Good (VG) by me, on my own turntable. Very Good means light wear, more pronounced than Very Good Plus. Expect surface noise you can hear, particularly in quiet passages and at the start and end of a side, though it does not overpower the music. There may be visible groove wear, some loss of gloss, and scratches you can feel that affect the sound. The label may carry minor writing or a sticker.

Jacket: graded Very Good Plus (VG+). Very Good Plus on the sleeve means minor wear only: slight loss of sheen or very light ring wear, a seam split no longer than an inch, or slightly turned or dinged corners. No writing, no water damage. On this copy: light ring wear, light corner wear; graded to the worst of it, rounding down.

Every word above about how this record sounds came from putting it on a deck and listening to it.

Shipping & care: the record in a clean inner sleeve, jacket protected, boxed in a rigid LP mailer with stiffeners. It arrives exactly as it left.
