this auction is for a copy of the ultra rare 1992 australian tour edition of nirvana's "bleach" as released by waterfront records (under license from sub pop) in a super-duper small edition of 500 copies.  this thing is pretty nutty and a crown jewel of 1990s rock releases, nirvana or otherwise.  here are some ways in which this album is even more special than your standard early editions of "bleach"

- this version of the LP is unique in that it is has replaced the iconic black / white / silver cover art present on the "regular" version of the title with a green / white / silver motif (basically replacing the black elements in the regular cover with green) giving it a very curious, interesting and one of a kind look;
- this version comes in a cloth (t-shirt fabric material) bag that slips over the LP jacket bearing "nirvana - bleach - 1992 australian tour edition" on the front and the album track titles and the nine dates of the band's january-february 1992 australian tour on the reverse;
- this version is an official release from an edition of a mere 500 copies, a complete pittance for an above-the board nirvana release;
- the version is pressed on heavyweight (180 gram?) green translucent vinyl; and
- this version is packaged with a poster of the album's cover (in the same green motif as the LP jacket).

basically, it's a real doozy and would immediately become the crown jewel of your nirvana (if not entire LP) collection.  this exceptionally rare title rarely comes up for sale making opportunities to pick up a copy far and few between.  don't snooze!

this particular copy is in great shape and would be a real accent to any collection.  here are the particulars to help accent the photos above (more photos including the raw, full-size versions of the ones included with this action can be found as a zip file at www.threelobed.com/bleach.zip or can be obtained with a message to me) -

-THE BAG - clean, flat and in all-around excellent condition. 

-THE VINYL – completely gorgeous and mint.  exceptionally clean and glossy.  please direct your attention to the photo of the vinyl that shows light reflected off of the LP’s surface.  it’s a real beaut.  i played this LP once following my acquisition to make sure that there were no defects or play issues and i can report that it sounds great.  

-THE POSTER - clean, flat and seemingly unopened.

-THE LP JACKET – this is undoubtedly a nice copy but it is not entirely without (minor) flaws.  the photos (posted here or in the above-referenced zip file) exhaustively document the LP jacket and the description that follows.  please note that this particular LP jacket is printed on somewhat flimsy stock and, by extension, i would sincerely doubt that many copies of this particular title exist in a true mint state.  please note that while i am listing the jacket’s condition issues here, they are not distracting when the title is in hand. on whole the jacket is clean, glossy and attractive. not to overstate things, but the cover is quite attractive and the full description herein is in the nature of full and complete disclosure.  there are slight corner dings/wear on the following corners – front top left, front bottom left, front bottom right, back bottom left and back bottom right.   the front left edge (spine) has a slight indentation likely caused by copies having been stacked on top of one of another horizontally back in the day.  this indentation has led to two small stress crease near the bottom left front corner which are respectively about 1.5” and .25” in length.   similarly there is are two related stress creases on the back right spine side, one near the “top” which is .25” in length and one closer to the bottom which is .5” in length.  there is a faint, slight .75” start of a spine split  in the dead center of the bottom of the back cover (please note that the split has not completely happened).  there is an approximate 1.75” stress crease that runs on a 45 degree angle (10 o’clock) through the last “e” in “Leenwen” towards the left bottom cover.  again, I stress and the photos should demonstrate that this is a very attractive copy.  while all of the album’s other aspects (wax, bag and poster) are basically pure mint, there are a few issues to the jacket that keep it from being described similarly.

this particular LP was obtained from a recently liquidated massive (and exhaustive) nirvana collection.  given the nature of the collection this came from, i feel that it was unplayed and simply stored from the date of its original acquisition until the date of its sale. 

this LP will be shipped very securely within two boxes.  first, the LP will first be packaged within a "standard" LP mailer.  once taped up, that mailer will be placed within a larger second box for added protection.  the actual vinyl LP will be removed from the LP jacket during shipping so as to prevent seam splits to the jacket.  the cloth bag will also be separate from the LP jacket.  the poster will ship inside of the LP jacket.  i will cover at my own expense insurance and, for domestic winners only, delivery confirmation.  shipping will be $13 for priority mail within the US or $4 for USPS media mail (not suggested for this particular item).  shipping for non-US winners will be by USPS first class international and will run $15 for delivery to canada and $22 for delivery to any other non-US, non-canadian address.  please note that due to some prior delivery issues to both italy and greece this LP will *not* be able to be shipped to addresses in either of those nations.  sorry for the inconvenience.  this does not mean that i will not sell this to italian or greek buyers - it is just that you will need to arrange for a delivery address outside of italy or greece prior to the close of the auction.
