Description
Nirvana - Bleach - 'MARBLE PURPLE' official U.S. LP RARE press . MATRIX INFO Side A: SP-34-A Kdisc ch L.32926 Side B: SP-34-B Kdisc ch L.329626.X with the Mirrored( backwards ) E on Side B
Sleeve is VG+ with little edge wear and "COLOR VINYL" sticker on front right hand corner. Vinyl is EX or better and plays outstanding from start to finish!! No ERIKA credits on back of sleeve, and no barcode. It is easy to see why these ERIKA color vinyl pressings are now known and considered to be some of the most beautiful and sharp looking Nirvana vinyl ever made !!! What's really cool about these pressings is the process of making marble vinyl turns each seperate one into its own unique piece of art (except maybe the non-marble CLEAR PINK versions ). There were 500 RED, 500 BLUE, 500 PURPLE, 1500 GREEN, 1500 PINK, 500 RED & WHITE (Some call these the Peppermint Candy version -as some of them look less marbled and more like a giant piece of the classic candy .There might even be some versions we the fans have yet to see as I have my suspicions the people who pressed them may have made versions exclusively for themselves becuase there is a known lone BLACK & WHITE one you can check out as well as all the others previously stated here: www.sliver.it/nirvana/test/pages/official/bleach/us_12.html . After the success of nevermind, a repress was made, in many different vinyl colours. this is known as the 'erika' repress, from the name of the pressing plant mainly used by subpop at the time. As subpop owed money to erika, they allowed the plant to press and distribute some records. between them there were also the sliver 7" repressings in coloured vinyls.
some colours are clear (red, pink), others are opaque marbled
some of the clear vinyls may have impurities (coloured stains or streaks)
to achieve the marbled effect vinyl pellets of different colours are introduced in the mix with the basic colour, so each record may differ in the basic shade, and in the amount and colour of the 'marbling', as pictured for some of the colours.
a green sticker is attached to the front sleeve or to the plastic wrap. a small number of copies have a white sticker as those used in the green copies of the molly's lips 7"
these records were usually sold shrinkwrapped, so it wasn't possible to know in advance the colour of the record contained
some copies have a mirrored E in the matrix, on one or both sides. this may identify different plates used for the pressing
