Hello everybody.

Up for sale is a record from my personal collection. I am a huge nirvana fan, and their classic album Nevermind is my favorite record of all time. When this Bernie Grundman reissue was released in 2009, I was elated. The Mobile Fidelity release of Nevermind was (in my mind) THE definitive version of this record. That is, until I got my hands on this pressing...Seriously, I cannot overstate how truly great this pressing is.

In my opinion, it surpasses the excellent MFSL pressing, and (of course) the horrid 20th anniversary pressings. Anybody out there who is a fan of clean, well mastered pressings will know what I am talking about!

To prove that I am not just hyping this pressing for this listing, lets take a look at the dynamic ranges of these two mentioned pressings as well as the pressing that is for sale in this auction. This information comes form a website that lists the dynamic range of various pressings, in an effort to educate the consumer and combat the loudness war. If you are reading this listing, I am sure you probably know what site I am referencing. I find it to be an invaluable tool, as I am sure most of you do as well.

Ok, there are 3 scores listed for each pressing. The first number represents the Total (overall) Dynamic Range of that pressing. The second number represents the Minimum Dynamic Range on the pressing. For example, if one song is compressed more than the others, it will be represented here. Finally, the third number indicates the Maximum Dynamic Range. This would show the range of the song with the least amount of compression, in most instances. For all three numbers in the score, a higher number is better.

With that out of the way, lets look at the numbers. We will start with the 2011 20th anniversary pressing, as this is probably the most common pressing available on the current market. It scores 7 - 6 - 8.

Next, lets look at the much beloved and ultra expensive MFSL pressing from 1996. It scores 12 - 10 - 14. Much better, as you can see.

Finally, lets take a look at the scores for this Bernie Grundman mastered Gem from 2009. It scores 12 - 11 - 14. I will let you use your own ears to judge what pressing is your favorite, but I certainly know what mine is!

The pictures you are seeing are of the actual copy that you will receive in the mail upon winning this auction. I took pictures of the front, back, and all of the corners, plus the stickers on the front and back of the plastic wrap.

This record is long out of print and is getting VERY difficult to find. In fact, I cannot locate another sealed copy online at all...grab this still sealed copy while you still can!

This is an auction for ONE (1) copy of this record. All sales are final. There are No refunds, No exchanges, No warranty. This record is being described as best as I can, with multiple pictures of the actual copy that you will receive. As this record is nearing eight years old, please expect the usual shelf wear associated. I will ship to the CONUS only. I am only able to accept Pay Pal for payment. Not responsible for typographical errors.
