Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic - Lot of 5 USA Original 1950's 10" LP's


This is a collection of 5 original 1950's "Jazz At The Philharmonic" 10" LP's. They are all well used, but are serviceable copies. 4 are USA original pressings, 1 is a French original pressing. Artists included are Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Illinois Jacquet, J.J. Johnson, Howard McGhee, Bill Harris & others. All the sleeve artwork is by David Stone Martin.

I have listed them individually below:

1. Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic Volume 7 (Mercury MG VOL. 7 USA 10" LP 1950)

USA original 10" LP pressing. It has a thick card matt sleeve. There is no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has deep groove "Microgroove" Mercury labels. It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. This album features Illinois Jacquet, J.J. Johnson & others.

Sleeve: There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips and spine. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the top & bottom edges, & on the front & rear sleeve on some areas. Some light or very mild foxing here & there. There are no seam splits. Good+ condition

Vinyl: There are some mild to more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 5 or 6 light hairline marks. Good condition. The labels are in near excellent condition & show mild spindle wear. Plays VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.


2. Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic Volume 10 (Mercury MG 35002 USA 10" LP 1951)

USA original 10" LP pressing. It has a thick laminated card sleeve. There is no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has deep groove "Microgroove" Mercury labels. It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. This album features Illinois Jacquet, Howard McGhee, Hank Jones & others.

Sleeve: There is a 15 cm seam split along the bottom edge. This runs from the sleeve opening. There is some mild to moderate rubbing wear to the spine and corner tips. There is some mild rubbing wear to the top edge. There is a small stain on the rear sleeve. Good+ condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 4 or 5 light hairline marks. VG- condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show very light spindle wear. Plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.


3.  Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic Volume 14 (Mercury MG VOL 14 USA 10" LP 1951)

USA original 10" LP pressing. It has a thick matt card sleeve. There is no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has deep groove "Microgroove" Mercury labels. It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. This album features Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins & others.

Sleeve: There is a seam split along the entirety of the spine. There is some moderate rubbing wear to the top & bottom edges. There is some light, mild or very mild fading & staining on the rear. Fair+ condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The card sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on some areas. Good+ condition. The labels are in near excellent condition & show mild spindle wear. Plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.


4. Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic Volume 9 (Mercury MG VOL 9 USA 10" LP 1950)

USA original 10" LP pressing. It has a thick matt card sleeve. There is no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has deep groove "Microgroove" Mercury labels. It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. This album features Howard McGhee, Illinois Jacquet, Bill Harris & others.

Sleeve: There is some mild to moderate rubbing wear to the front and rear sleeve. It has its original 1950's record shop sticker on the rear. There are no seam splits. Good condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There is one light but more moderate rub mark on one side. There are a couple of other light hairline marks. VG condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show minimal spindle wear. Plays VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.


5. Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic Volume 8 (Mercury/ Blue Star No: 6908 10" LP 1950)

French original 10" LP pressing. It has a thick matt card sleeve. It has a tracing-paper style inner sleeve.  It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. This album features Hank Jones, Flip Phillips, Jo Jones & others.

Sleeve: It has its original 1950's French record shop sticker on the front. There is moderate rubbing wear to the spine and bottom edge. There is mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the front. There is mild to more moderate fading & staining on the rear. There are some blue ticks on the rear too. There is a very small 1 cm seam split at the top & bottom corner tips of the sleeve opening.  Good condition

Vinyl: There are some mild to more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The paper inner sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl. There are 4 or 5 light hairline marks. Good condition. The labels are in vg+ condition & show mild to more moderate spindle wear. The inner sleeve is in VG condition. Plays Good to VG overall. There is some light, mild or more moderate crackle in some quieter places.

I shall remove the vinyl from the sleeves during shipping. This will protect the sleeves from any damage during transit.
