This is a copy of the extremely rare and long out of print double LP release of Nortec Collective’s “ The Tijuana Sessions Vol. 1”
Released in 2001 on Palm Picture’s now defunct music imprint, this is the first and only official Nortec Collective release including all members of the Collective’s original line-up of Bostich (Ramón Amezcua), Clorofila (Jorge Verdín and Fritz Torres), Fussible (Pepe Mogt and Melo Ruiz), Hiperboreal (Pedro Gabriel Beas), Plankton Man (Ignacio Chavez), Panóptica (Roberto Mendoza) and Terrestre (Fernando Corona). This breakout album took serious electronic dance music fans by surprise in 2001 by fusing the sounds and instruments from Banda and Norteño (both traditional music genres from the north of Mexico) with house, downtempo, acid jazz, minimal tech, ambient and more.
