Description
Ex DJ Collection has got to go. Need the room.
First up named Northern Soul and 60's and 70's Soul Records, some Demos, some UK, some Imports all original, all used but in good condition, unless noted otherwise. All played through on a Technics SL1200 Mk2 with a Stanton 500AL Cartridge and needle, before listing so there are no surprises.
Log me as a favourite seller for loads of 60's and 70's Soul and Disco 7" Vinyl with loads of 12" Records and Demo CD's to follow, leads, turntables, amps, flight cases, sundry equipment, all sorts, has to go.

All of the records here would have originally been played on the much gentler Shure cartridge and needle (can’t remember the model number). Some of the records I am reporting skips and jumps on are being reported back to me as being OK. I can only think that it's because I play to check through with a Stanton 500AL, which is a bit like taking a pickaxe to custard, as it was designed for back tracking and scratching and the like. So I set the weight to 1.5 gms grams, very light, so as not to dig a deeper groove that might explain why I’m getting different results, I don't really know, advice welcomed.
I am not a record collector or record dealer, all records offered here are part of what was a working DJ collection, although not played for 20+ years. I will never describe any record as Mint neither will I put any record up that can’t be played. Most of my records are in cardboard sleeves not original covers. I describe them all as good, most are very good, obviously some are better than others. Where there are specific faults i.e. a crackly intro or a pop or a skip or physical damage that is out the ordinary that will be noted in the description.
If a record(s) arrive cracked chipped or broken please photograph the damage and the packaging and send the photos to me at c.slaney@uwclub.net. You’ve paid good money for the postage the least you can do is expect them to arrive intact.
In the very rare event that a record is broken in transit I will go through the compensation procedure to make sure none of us are out of pocket because the word FRAGILE is not understood by a very small minority.
All my stuff starts at 99p; it’s an auction, whether they are theoretically worth £1.00 or £200.00, I have no idea about value, to me the auction finds the “value” on the day.
Every record I list plays through unless I have noted a fault in the description. I’m not a dealer, so buy it from me for less.
Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
