Comments: Tremendously soulful mid-tempo Northern groover with the rhythm section hanging and hanging on every beat. Prominent claps are featured throughout including a passage where the rest of the backing except the bass fades away. May I also mention the great singing, a knockout drummer and low register horn section providing extended riffs. On the B-side Sayles pours his heart into a classy Deep and Bluesy ballad. This song had previously been recorded by co-composer Lloyd Price, featured as the B-side of his 1960 ABC-Paramount single ‘Lady Luck’.
This is the original pressing: Matrix reads 20075 looking from label towards the wax and Chi-Town shows good 3d effect.
