According to Lattimore the Duchess Label was run by a local Dallas producer named Al Klein. No, not the Allen Klein who went on to represent people like Sam Cooke and The Rolling Stones, but a different guy entirely, who later became a producer at Motown in the early years .This cookin' little record "Teenie Weenie" was Lattimore's first effort for Duchess. Although the label says it was written by Brown, it's a cover of his Memphis buddy Rosco Gordon's big record from the year before, "Just A Little Bit". There's a nice rawness to this record, as Brown and the band really pour it on. Be sure to listen all the way through for another great cover of "(Night Time Is) The Right Time," first recorded in 1937 by Roosevelt Sykes a.k.a. "The Honeydripper." The song features the memorable refrain "Because night time, is the right time, to be with the one you love" towards the end of each twelve-bar verse. The song never hurt the careers of the many bands that covered it including Creedence Clearwater Revival, George Throrogood, The Animals, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Rufus Thomas, Canned Heat, The Rolling Stones, and many more.
