Label: COLUMBIA (unattributed) white label demo, catalog number is 4-43407.
Produced as a public service as part of the President’s Youth Opportunity – Back-to-School” Campaign in the Fall of 1965. Includes the original sleeve on glossy white paper stock featuring a letter from Vice-President Humphrey asking the Program Directors and Disc Jockeys of America to play the record to help prevent kids from dropping out of school. The record, rare both in this form and as a commercial single on Columbia, has become a northern soul monster. It rarely shows up in any condition, and is seldom found NEAR MINT which accurately describes this copy. I do not believe it has ever been on a turntable until we produced the sound clip accompanying this listing. This is as nice as it gets!
Year: 1965
Condition: GEM NM with 100% of original gloss, our highest grade. Unplayed from the estate of a Washington, DC area deejay. Vinyl is flawless – it is apparent that this single was likely never on a turntable prior to our making of these sound clips. Fidelity is superb. You will not find a nicer copy anywhere.
Labels are flawless.
The Custom inner sleeve on glossy paper stock is in excellent condition.
