Description
For sale is a stellar example of rare soul 45 "It Doesn't Matter/I Want To" by Little Jewel on the Tay-Ster label, 6011, white label promotional copy. Matrix RJ-1241-1 JCD on "It's Doesn't Matter" side, RJ- 1242-1 JCD on "I Want To" side.
Condition:
"It Doesn't Matter" side has date of 4/12/67 written in blue ink on it. Labels otherwise NM. Vinyl rates NM. Beautiful, full fidelity... wonderful engineering on this one.
From the collection of a Washington D.C. DJ who ran a radio station from his basement in the 1960s, when you could do that sort of thing. His library consisted mostly of promos send to him from small labels, with the exception of major label Columbia Records, which he impeccably stored in file cabinets away from moisture, dust, etc.
My grading system:
STILL SEALED : Jacket imperfections, if any, will be described. Vinyl guaranteed to be in unplayed condition.
M : I don't use this grade, on the assumption that no record or jacket is truly flawless.
M- : Vinyl appears unplayed, jacket bears no signs of wear. I rarely, if ever, use this grade.
NM : Like M-, with possible scintilla/whiff of an imperfection
VG++ : May have a couple very minor imperfections. (superficial marks that have little or no bearing on sound.) Jacket may have a couple very minor flaws.
VG+ : Like VG++, but with a few more light imperfections
VG : Several light imperfections, and possibly one or two more serious ones, such as small feelable scratches. Still plays well.
VG- : Will display numerous minor imperfections and/or feelable scratches that affect playback quality. Between you and me, you could do better.
GOOD : What I consider pretty poor... numerous major imperfections. I generally don't sell items in this range unless they are of major significance.
