Description

This Nurse With Wound record is 'The Sylvie and Babs High-Thigh Companion'.  This is the scarce Belgian Direct Metal Mastered version of the record released in 1985 on Laylah Records.  This classic NWW expedition into sound features two side-long tracks; 'You Walrus Hurt the One You Love' and 'Great Balls of Fur'  It is absolutely PACKED with layers of constantly shifting/warping/distorting sound, samples, noises and sonic snippets.  The back of the record lists over forty different contributors (as the "Murray Fontana Orchestra") from the underground scene of the time.  Though it does have that classic NWW sense of sonic experimentation, it is actually quite an entertaining - almost funny record at times.  To my ears, it's a bit like Steve Stapleton's answer to The Residents classic collage/homage 'The Third Reich 'n' Roll'.  Great stuff.

 

The record is housed in a great glossy gatefold sleeve and both the vinyl and cover are in excellent condition.  Super clean...nearly new condition.
