Details: This is the Actual Original LP Cover and Back Cover Artwork in a large,old school, Offset printing layout by Steven Stapleton. Here is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Music History from Artist Steven Stapleton's Early United Dairies Label LP release UD028: Masstishaddhu - Shekinah. This gives a glimpse at how the artist is very accomplished in graphic arts and is one of the primary components to what United Dairies Label was all about. Stapleton would invite artists and performers to do a U.D. release and he would usually do the graphic chores for their record which his artwork is very hard to obtain and is widely known throughout music genre's as ; Surrealist, Dadaist, Experimental, Free form jazz, Acid Rock, Kraut Rock, jap rock, Avant-Garde, Drone, Musique Concrete, Early - Modern Electronic Music Composition,Post-punk, Gothic, etc...His artwork was the primary selling force to getting his Label of the ground with the now infamous 1st Lp by his nom de plume, Nurse With Wound - Chance Meeting On A Dissecting Table Of A Sewing Machine And An Umbrella. It was the cover's very artwork that had Rough Trade and other Indie distributors grabbing them up!! Everytime a new United Dairies release came out there was always the hope for some more bizarre artwork from the mad mind of Steven Stapleton. As you can see this here is the original artwork in actual size by Stapleton. Masterful Collage artist that he is you can see all the layers he has put into the piece and the close up shots really don't do it justice to when yoiu see this artwork up close and personal. I had picked up a whole new fondness towards what he said was the printers had always done a horrible job reproducing his artwork back in those days. Now everything is all digital artwork very little actual size layout work as you see here. When you compare this artwork to the finished LP's that were printed and are comprised as United Dairies 028...you can see what he's saying. The amazing part is that he's still creating a massive body of work that some day when all is said and done he'll be known as the last of the Dadaists. There's a amazing amount of humor in all of his work and darkness when needed to bring each person into the realm of the artist... so take advantage of this sellers misfortune and bid as often as you need to make sure people get fed, a bed and keep a roof over their head.
