EXCELLENT UNDAMAGED CONDITION
As the 60's swung into life, and the Beatles took the music world by storm, their musical director, the late George Martin, created his own instumental version of twelve of their massive hits.
This was Martin's first recording issued under his own name, in 1964, and in addition to the usual vinyl 33rpm LP, the recording was issued in the much rarer medium of a 3.75 inch/second quarter-inch tape record.
At this time, reel-to-reel tape recording was the only medium available other than vinyl - the 8-track stereo and the cassette were still to be developed commercially. These tape records were produced at EMI by real-time duplication from master tapes - an expensive and time consuming process, and their short-lived production ended when lower cost - and more convenient - cassettes became available.
This GENUINE ORIGINAL copy in my possession from NEW in 1964
- carefully stored for over 50 years.
The tape is complete, intact and undamaged. I have tested it on my own Grundig tape recorder to confirm that it plays 100%
Track 1: All My Loving : Don't Bother Me: Can't Buy Me Love: All I've Got To Do: I Saw Her Standing There: She Loves You.
Track 2: From me To You: There's A Place: This Boy: Please Please Me: Little Child: I Want To Hold Your Hand.
The box is clean and undamaged - although some surface scuffing from 50 years storage. The inner card structure is intact, to hold the tape securely. The original EMI 4" tape reel is clean and undamaged - the leader tape with recording title information is intact. The original packing slip is still in the box.
