OLD TIME FIDDLIN PIECES Clayton McMichen 1939 Decca 66 bluegrass country 78 set Shipping Info Description Scarce vintage record set: DECCA Presents a Collection of OLD TIME FIDDLIN' PIECES played by CLAYTON MCMICHEN (Champion Fiddler); Decca Records, Album No. 66, with three 78 rpm 10" records in a unique tri-fold sleeve; 18 tracks; record catalog nos. are 2647, 2648 and 2649; this was released in 1939. An all-instrumental collection of traditional classic fiddle tunes by one of the greatest old time fiddlers. Each 78 has a medley of 3 fiddle tunes per side, often with banjo accompaniment, with standards such as Turkey in the Straw/Old Hen cackle/Fiddler's Dram/Devils Dream/Fire On the Mountain/Ida Red/Sally Goodin/Soldier's Joy/Arkansas Traveler/Sourwood Mountain/Sugar in the Gourd etc.
CONDITION: VG+/VG+ (records have some minor scuffing and a few minor scracthes, pretty soft, though there are a couple that I can barely feel with my thumbnail; labels have some small stickers; the sleeve has rubbing to the cover, some minor edge and corner rubbing, but is strong with intact spine and spine cloth, no cracks).
