MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND RCA Records very first Stereo PROMOTIONAL press released by RCA Records, licensed from Kangaroo Team Records through RCA Corporation, USA, made by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A. and distributed by Sociedad Chilena De Ediciones Musicales, SOCHEM, in 1980, catalog number 31022, with hand etched matrix numbers 01171-A in Side A and 31022B in Side B, with traditional black/silver RCA Records labels with colored “dog”. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of Side B the matrix numbers etched correspond to the catalog number, not the case of Side A, where the real matrix numbers were etched. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Santamaria”, originally released in 1980, became the most successful song of Oliver Onions, one of the names used by Italian brothers Guido and Maurizio De Angelis, and the same year it was released here in Chile, with “Notte Notte” as Side B. In labels the song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and producers, and time of each song. And as you can see both labels have the text “VENTA PROHIBIDA – PROMOCIONAL” (Sale Forbidden – Promotional). So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PROMOTIONAL PRESS of “Santamaria” by Oliver Onions especially released for Chilean radio stations and sung in Spanish!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with some scuffs, soft hairline and light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, with only some minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong VG+ or EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a light background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with very soft constant crackles, a bit more evident in Side B, which of course don’t cause any major distraction from the experience to listen and enjoy this record from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PROMOTIONAL PRESS, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but with still a great sound quality after 36 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this is an AUTHENTIC PROMOTIONAL RECORD and sung in Spanish!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
