Description
This is an incredibly rare item, an ORCHESTRAL MANOEVRES in the dark vinyl LP produced in 1980 by DINDISC Ltd.did2. and signed, on the sleeve, by PAUL HUMPHREYS, ANDY McCLUSKEY and someone else, possibly JULIA KNEALE?
I have tried to find a copy of Julia's autograph (on her autobiography, etc.) for comparison, but have not been able to do so. Does anyone have any thoughts on the third autograph/signature, which is not only on the sleeve, but also on side 2 of the LP? It does look like 'JKn, but perhaps that is wishful thinking. Andy and Paul's signatures have been done in felt tip, the other in ballpoint.
This is an early (first impression?) of the LP, which not only was expensive to produce the die cut sleeve, but also had the lable added by hand.
I have not played the LP but it appears to be in very good condition, without scatches - please examine my images.
Looking closely at the centre of the LP, on side 1 there are several phrases which have been added:
' The words were on the ceiling', 'A porky prime cut.2, and 'Did A2'.
On side 2:
'Easy on the white noise' , and a repeat of 'A porky prime cut'.
I do not know if these additions which have been added by hand (etched?) are normal, or are something special.
As I am not an expert on music collectables I cannot guarantee the signatures/autographs. I only found them when I went through a number of Lps from the 1980s in my possession. I would be very happy to provide additional info. or images on request.
