Up for your consideration is this very scarce 1964 copy of "One String Blues" by Eddie "One String" Jones on one side and Edward Hazelton on the other. This was released on the Portents label as #2. A collection of field recordings collected in 1960 by Sam Charters. Really raw hard core blues. I purchased this directly from Sam back in 1964. I was in the Jazz Record Mart on Grand and State in Chicago one afternoon visiting with Bob Koester (Delmark Records), when Sam came in with a case of these to put into the store. I grabbed this copy. Unfortunately, a really messy divorce some years later forced me to store this in less than favorable conditions, hence the water damage to the sleeve. It is what it is. I'm getting up in years and thinning out the collection. This needs a new home.
The record is visually graded a G+, but does have a few light scuffs. Still plays decent. The labels are clean, but do have some spindle marks. The cover is only fair. It's still pretty much intact, though. The seams have splits, but and spine is tight. The inner sleeve is generic paper and thought to be original. Overall, a still playable copy of a really rare LP. I tend to grade conservatively. You won't be disappointed.
So, if this hard to find blues LP will fill a gap in that field recording collection of yours, why not toss in a bid? Who knows when (or if) another copy will surface. Offered at a reasonable open and NO RESERVE!!
Recently, after nearly ten years of selling, I received my VERY FIRST negative feedback. The "buyer" had a score of (17). Seller sold the item to someone else even after I won the auction

Before you bid, please read the fine print
Bid with confidence that your record will be packed properly and shipped promptly. All LP's are cleaned on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine, inserted into new anti static sleeves and then into new 3 mil outer sleeves prior to shipping. I ship only in new designated record shipping cartons with reinforced inserts.
I try to describe items as honestly and accurately as possible. I encourage questions, but please ask them prior to bidding. It will help avoid confusion.
California buyers will be charged 8.00% sales tax unless a signed California resale card is provided prior to shipping. Just a number won't due.
I charge only actual shipping costs plus a small "handling fee". Since eBay has a gag order on us about discussing insurance, this covers insurance, delivery confirmation and the extra shipping costs recently imposed on sellers. Sorry!
I will contact the winner after the auction with exact shipping costs. Please wait for the invoice!
If your feedback is less than 5, please contact me prior to bidding, or your bid may be cancelled.
I will be happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases. Please wait for an invoice with the correct amount before paying.
International buyers please check for exact shipping costs. Our postal department recently increased the postage on first class international shipments dramatically. I'm not certain that eBay shipping quotes are accurate. Your order is subject to being cancelled if you do not get the right shipping quote prior to paying. If the price quoted is too high, I will refund the difference, but if the price quoted is too low, I will not cover it!
International buyers please note; Purchaser is responsible for all customs fees and tariffs applied to item purchased. I always disclose on customs forms, Always!!
Well, that's out of the way. Now, let's have some fun!!
Thanks for looking & GOOD LUCK!!
All items shipped within 48 hours (usually within 24 hours) of cleared payment. All items sold "AS IS".
Your payment must be received within four days from the date of the end of the auction. Unless prior arrangements have been made, an unpaid item dispute will be filed with ebay. If PayPal is an issue, please email me for other options.
