One Way System are a street punk band formed in the Fleetwood area of Lancashire, England in 1979.

One Way System's initial line-up was Craig Halliday (guitar), Gavin Whyte (vocals), Tez Mcdonald (drums) and Gaz Buckley (bass). A demo of the song Jerusalem recorded by that lineup was later included on the A Country Fit For Heroes compilation album, released in 1982. David Ross joined the band from Poulton-Le-Fylde band, Zyklon B as second guitarist. In 1981 Blackpool's Lightbeat/Beat The System label released the No Entry EP.

The first record released by One Way System was "Stab the Judge" financed by Craig Halliday with his grandmother's legacy on a loan basis. Although all of the 1000 pressing were sold, Craig's loan to Barry Lights is as yet unpaid and it is believed the money was used to finance releases by other bands on his label.

After some early personnel changes (Tez Mcdonald joined The Fits and it was Craig Halliday left following a disagreement), the line-up settled down as Gav Whyte on vocals, Dave "Crabby" Ross on guitar, Gary Buckley on bass and Tommy Couch on drums.

The Give Us A Future 7" was the first release on Cherry Red's Anagram Records in 1982. In the same year, Anagram also rereleased No Entry as the Stab The Judge EP and the single version of Jerusalem. One Way System became the first signing to Anagram with the release of their All Systems Go LP following the success of Give Us A Future in the indie charts.

Between 1982 and 1984 the band had five Indie Chart hit singles and two Top Ten albums. A U.S. West Coast tour alongside Circle Jerks in 1984 was abandoned when Keith Morris broke his neck, although the band managed to salvage one date with Suicidal Tendencies. In 1985 Gav Whyte was replaced on vocals by Andy Gibson of Preston punk band The Genocides and the band remained signed to Anagram until they split in early 1986 with enough songs written for an unreleased third album.

There is a 8cm split to the bottom edge of the innersleeve. I will supply the record in a spare inner to prevent further splitting to the original.

We offer combined shipping on vinyl records: our shipping rates are listed above. HOWEVER shipping packages that weigh more than 2kg is VERY expensive. Therefore we can only offer combined shipping up to a maximum of SIX (6) LPs / 12" records. Any extra purchases will be invoiced, packaged and shipped separately.

***Due to the physical logistics of how I can package orders, I will not combine box sets with other items, I will only package them individually***

COMBINED POSTAGE FOR DIFFERENT FORMATS will be invoiced at my discretion:

While I am happy to combine (for example) one or two 7” singles into one package with 12” records, sometimes it isn’t practical (like if you want me to combine one 12” record with three or more 7” records). I do not think that these combinations can be packaged together safely and securely. Therefore these will be invoiced separately as two packages.
