Description
FRANK SINATRA HIGH HOPES/All The Way (no label name #2077/8 PROMO-ONLY 45, 1960): UNPLAYED MINT w/coupon reproduction.
High Hopes features new, pro-JFK lyrics: "Jack's got...high hopes!", "Vote for Kennedy!", etc.
There's a lot of misinformation about this record floating around; the fact is it's an undesignated promo-only 45 sent to radio stations in states with crucial primaries. It wasn't supposed to be offered for retail sale anywhere; Sinatra had an exclusive contract with his new label Reprise. You can hear this unique version of High Hopes in pioneering documentary feature film Primary playing on an AM station during Kennedy's 1960 West Virginia campaign.
My source for this historic 45: a 1960 JFK campaign worker in Arizona who had an unopened box in her closet for 50+ years. Others offer this single, but who else has a nice repro of the rare "insert" campaign coupon? 66 years ago this flyer got you the record (as long as you didn't forget to include a generous check for the Senator's campaign).
The Chairman Of The Board and The President had a falling-out after the election & Frank was barred from the White House. Sinatra was royally pissed & took a sledgehammer to the helipad he'd constructed at his Palm Springs home for JFK's Presidential chopper. But according to daughter Nancy, after Kennedy's assassination Frank Sinatra "cried for days."
ONLY 1000 PRESSED of this UNPLAYED MINT High Hopes PROMO: is there a rarer Frank Sinatra 45? The Osborne guide says it's worth $350+.
Unconditional no-BS guarantee: if you're not happy, return it for a refund.
