Description
Up for grabs is the Ooga Boogas debut single “The Octopus is Back / Diggin a Hole” from this imposing Melbourne band which features members of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Sailors and The Onyas.
This is the very rare and special Aussie launch edition. It was only available at their launch gig in Melbourne in a numbered edition of 35 on the night.
It is housed in a unique burger bag, and comes with an exclusive launch edition numbered insert and button badge. It’s somewhat different to the regular store version which followed in several sleeve variations. Legend has it that the difference store version sleeves came about as many fans were pissed off with missing out on the scarce launch edition. The anarchy and disappointment resulted in the band deciding to keep doing different store sleeve editions numbered out of 35, while also creating a tightly held collectors nightmare.
The launch copy on offer is # 3 of 35 that exist in the land down under and it also comes with a scarce hand written insert, which provides recording details along with other early legendary Aarght releases. The additional insert appears to be a random inclusion with this copy and the chances of scoring a lower number of this renowned edition would be at very long odds.
